Irish Ogham County Roscommon

Rathcroghan Cave 1 Ogham Stone, County Roscommon, Ireland

(December 16, 2024) The cave of Cruachu at Rathcroghan is a natural rock fissure to which a drystone masonry porch in the style of a souterrain has been added. Two of the lintel stones in this structure bear Ogham inscriptions. This first one is near the entrance.

Rathcroghan Cave 2 Ogham Stone, County Roscommon, Ireland

(December 16, 2024) In the roof of a small branch passage, on the right-hand side of a visitor entering the cave a stone has its top end broken off. The remaining portion has a worn text. The remainder of the stone measures 4 ' 7" X I ' 10" x 0  10".
