Translation of Caistor-by-Norwich Astragalus 500 CE

(December 16, 2024)

This bone was found in an urn at Caistor St. Edmund, Norfolk, England in 1937. It came  from a roe-deer astragalus, which is its ankle bone. The text style is early Danish (150-700 CE). So this would date it to around 500 CE shortly after the Romans left Britain.

Translation in Akkadian (North Text 49)

  1. Su PiGu Ku IPu T

In English

  1. Su's scavengers can be involved in freeing-up astrology-magic.

Comment: The dark new moon god Su is the source of astrology-magic and all non-fate motion powers. His scavengers are probably all the energy animals which included, pigs, dogs, stags, and frogs (all words which have /g/ endings in English). A roe-deer would be classed as a stag. See Druid Energy Animals.

In English

Raihan (which based on this one incorrect example is now claimed to mean "Roe Deer.")

Comment: The letter assignments are completely wrong and were made to fit this one example. Letter assignments must come from a chart validated against many different texts from the same time and place.
